Goa is land of unique beaches, beautiful churches and fort. Though North Goa receives maximum tourism because of being party capital, if you are looking for someplace to relax and enjoy serenity of nature South Goa is place for you. In this list I will mention about some less known places to visit in South Goa which will completely take away your heart.

Arossim Beach: This beach is pretty isolated but we caught most beautiful sunset of our life here as you can see in the below picture. If you want an isolated beach where you can spend quality time with your family building sand castle, playing with your kids/pets this is place for you.

Butterfly beach: This hidden beach is situated near palolem beach. The thing that makes it unique is it being surrounded by forest in such a way that it naturally forms a shape of butterfly. This place can be reached through 2 ways - take a hike if you are adventure lover or the easy way is to take a boat ride from palolem beach. We took a boat ride which will cost you around 300-500 INR (do negotiate) per person depending on the season you visit. The boat ride includes activity like dolphin sighting, visit to honeymoon beach, visit to butterfly beach. Take beer cans and swim suit along with you and enjoy a relaxing day out here surrounded by lush green forest on one side and beach on another.

Cola Beach: The thing that makes this beach unique is its lagoon which is ideal for swimming and kayaking & the beach being surrounded by beautiful cliffs. This beach also has sea facing resorts early booking is recommended as they are mostly booked due to its beautiful location. We traveled here from palolem by scooty and took 20 mins trek down the cliff to reach this place. Those 20 mins trek was totally worth it when we reached here to witness such a picturesque view.

Varca Beach: This is a marvelous beach with a stretch of white sand. The combination of serene blue water and glittering white sand makes it ideal for awesome photo shoots.

Three Kings Chapel: This church is known for being one of the most haunted places in Goa but can be visited during daytime. It is situated at the top of the hill and receives fair amount of tourists. Its a beautiful church and really great location to get some good pictures. Though all those heard haunted stories and the location will give you a eerie vibe once you reach but its completely safe to visit.

Udear Springs Waterfall: Yeah right!! Goa is not all about beaches but it has pretty good waterfalls which can also be visited. We got some free time on our last day and as we have mostly covered all places we decided to visit some offbeat sites. Udear waterfall is a small spring and it has lots of small fishes so you can get your fish spa in this natural beautiful surrounding for free :p
